New York State Governor

Andrew M. Cuomo is the 56th Governor of New York State, having assumed office on January 1, 2011. Cuomo was re-elected on November 5, 2014, defeating his Republican challenger Robert Astorino. The governor is popularly elected every four years by a plurality and has no term limit. The next election is in 2018.
