Westchester County Executive

County government provides services at the local level, similar to the way the Federal government provides services at the national level and State government at the state level.   Also similar to the Federal and State governments, County government consists of three branches – legislative, executive and judicial.

In Westchester, the executive branch is led by the County Executive (“CE”).  In addition to signing legislation into law, the County Executive carries out policies enacted by the County Board of Legislators, and administers programs and provides services through specialized departments.  There are currently over 40 departments focused on delivering services to Westchester County residents.
