Script for Indivisible: Saving SIVs, America’s Allies, in Afghanistan
Hi, my name is ____________ and I live in _____________.
I’m calling to express my concern about the lives of up to 17,000-19,000 SIV’s who are in grave danger once the United States pulls out all of its troops from Afghanistan by September 11, 2021, which is less than four months from now.
That number grows to 70,000 people when we include family members of these Afghan nationals, who have worked for the U.S. military and government, since the September 11th terror attacks. These Afghan nationals have served important roles such as interpreters, engineers, mechanics, drivers, and other service providers. Tragically, these men and women and their families now face death threats from ISIS, the Taliban, al Qaeda, and other hostile groups because of their work for the U.S. as our allies. These attacks have already intensified, and will continue to increase as we get closer to the pullout, placing these lives in grave danger.
The Taliban have publicly stated that they will seek retribution against those who assisted the United States. The escalation in violence will especially make women and children vulnerable to danger and harm. More than 80 people were recently killed and about 150 injured while leaving their school, most of them girls of high school age.

We must act NOW to save lives. I implore ____________ to work with Congress to authorize as many additional visas as possible to get these people to safety. The President and the Department of Defense (DOD) should lead this effort, as it will require interagency collaboration.
It’s up to ________________ to advocate on behalf of the SIV’s and their families. Thank you for your time,
